I chose SAT prep because this is something I’ve been working on for the past year and I want to continue to feel fully prepared for the test. What is like about it is the feeling of preparedness for the test. The more I work on practice problems the better I will feel about the test. I have been with tutors for the SAT and using the tips and tricks I got from them I can continue studying on my own. The ultimate goal is to increase my score.
I want to be able to feel confident with the test and be able to write it well. I would love to get a score in the range of 750-800 for each category. Last time I got 720 for math and 650 for english in my practice tests. I want to learn even more tips and tricks for the test. I want to be able to finish within the time constraints too because sometimes it’s a little too close for comfort. The only way I can accomplish that is through practice.
My inquiry aligns with the mindful learner competency because I am motivated toward my own academic goals. I am going to portray this competency through showing how much work I will have done. I will also have a list of goals and show that I have accomplished them because I have a growth mindset.
To achieve my inquiry goals I will complete 1-2 full tests a week. I will go over the ones I got wrong and be able to understand how to improve for next time. Every month I will have expected my score to increase at least by 20 points. I will be able to compare my initial score to my final score to see my progress. I have textbooks that I can use with practice tests so I should have enough material for the semester. I also want to take the SAT II so I will learn through the biology textbook for the first time.
I will be posting blogs on my website with updates regarding what new skill I learned that week and how much my score has gone up. Hopefully I will be able to work on all of my skills for different subjects and give my input about them. I will still be learning with my tutors throughout this time so I can also say what I learned from them. For my project about this inquiry I’m thinking about doing an instagram with exercises that I found the most challenging throughout the weeks as well as tips and updates on how my score is improving.
